Introduction: Affective-collective investment is one of the variables that can positively affect the health and productivity of nurses. The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of Affective Capital enhancement training on Affective-collective investment among nurses. Methods: The research method was semi-experimental, and research design was two groups with two stages include pre-test and post-test. Among 120 nurses at a government hospital in Isfahan in the winter of 2019, 30 nurses were selected based on criteria of entry and exit and then randomly assigned in an experimental group (15 nurses) and a control group (15 nurses). Golparvar (2018) Affective collective investment questionnaire was used to measure the dependent variable in the pretest and post-test. The Affective Capital enhancement training received treatment in 10 sessions and the control group did not receive any treatment. The data were analyzed by multivariate analysis of variances. Results: The results of multivariate analysis of covariance showed that, there is a significant difference between Affective Capital enhancement training and control group in Affective collective investment in positive affect, Affective collective investment in feeling of energy and Affective collective investment in happiness (P < 0. 01). Conclusions: In sum, the findings of this study showed that training on the promotion of Affective Capital at the individual level is one of the courses that can raise Affective-collective investment in nurses and thus increase their level of potency and power.

Background: Psychosomatic complaints in nurses are among the variables that threaten their health in work environments. For this reason, it is necessary to help them for reduce these types of complaints in different ways. This research was administered with the aim of investigating structural model of the relationship between Affective-collective investments with Affective Capital and psychosomatic complaints among nurses. Methods and Materials: Research method was correlation type of model determination and the research statistical population was the nurses of Amin hospital in Isfahan city, among them two hundred eighty persons were selected using convenience sampling. Research instrument consisted of, Affective-collective investment questionnaire with Cronbach Alpha 0. 965, Affective Capital questionnaire with Cronbach Alpha 0. 96, and psychosomatic complaints scale with Cronbach Alpha 0. 86. Data were analyzed with the use of Pearson’ s correlation coefficient and Structure Equation Modeling (SEM). Results: Results revealed that there is a positive significant relationship between Affective-collective investment with Affective Capital (p=0. 001), and there is a negative significant relationship between Affective-collective investment and Affective Capital with psychosomatic complaints (p=0. 001). Results of structural equation modeling and mediation analysis indicated that Affective Capital is a complete mediator on the relationship between Affective-collective investments with psychosomatic complaints. Conclusion: The results of this study showed that positive capacities of Affective Capital and Affective-collective investment can be used to promote the physical health of nurses in nursing workplaces. Therefore, it is suggested that this be important in the nursing education process.

Abstract:

Introduction: Efficient strategies are required to identify and manage the occupational stresses and improve optimal experiences among health care employees, especially nurses. Thus, the present study was conducted to determine the impact of Affective Capital enhancement training on optimal experiences and job stress among nurses. Methods: This is a semi-experimental study consists of two groups of participants and designed at two pre-and post-test levels. The participants were 30 of 120 nurses of a governmental hospital in Isfahan city who selected based on the inclusion criteria of this study. The subjects were randomly assigned into the two cases (n= 15) and control (n= 15) groups. The cases have received Affective Capital enhancement training through ten sessions. Data collection was done using the optimal experience (Marsh & Jackson) and the job stress (Stanton) questionaries in both pre-test and post-test phases. Statistical analysis was performed by the analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) using SPSS software. Results: Based on the ANCOVA results, nurses who received Affective Capital enhancement training exhibited significantly increased optimal experiences (F= 6. 44, P< 0. 01) and decreased job stress (F= 57. 29, P< 0. 001). However, the pre and post test results were the same for control group. Conclusions: Given that the Affective Capital training could improve the optimal experiences and reduce job stresses of nurses, it is highly recommended that such trainings should be considered as potential strategies in the management of occupational stresses as well as improving commitment of employees in different workplaces, including hospitals.

Abstract:

Purpose: The current research examines the effect of Affective reactions on Capital project decisions and whether accountability can reduce the effect of Affective reactions in individuals’ decisions. Method: We use an experimental method with a mixed 2*3 factorial design. Manipulated variables are Affective reaction and accountability. The dependent variable is managers’ decision regarding choosing or rejecting an investment project. Our sample includes 84 professionals randomly assigned to three groups. Results: Our results show that participants are more likely to choose the economically non-preferred project when proposed by a manager triggering a positive Affective reaction, but accountability reduces this tendency. Also, participants are less likely to select the economically preferred project when proposed by a manager triggering a negative Affective reaction and accountability did not reduce this tendency. Conclusion: This research shows how a psychological factor can reduce the quality of judgment and decision making (JDM) in the field of Capital project decisions. In addition, it shows the conditions under which the influence of this factor reduces and the quality of JDM improves.Contribution: Awareness of psychological factors affecting JDM and knowledge of effective methods to improve JDM contributes to the Capital project literature.

Abstract:

Aim: This study examined the Modeling relationships between teacher emotions, psychological Capital and job-related Affective well-being in teachers. Method: In this correlational study, 381 teachers (223 female and 158 male) who were selected through available sampling from 1 and 6 education districts of Tehran, responded the Psychological Capital Questionnaire (PCQ), the Teacher Emotion Inventory (TEI) and the Job-Related Affective Well-Being Scale (JAWS). Structural equation modeling was used to assess the mediating effects model of psychological Capital on the relationship between teacher emotions with teachers’ job-related Affective well-being. Results: Results showed that the partially mediated model of psychological Capital on the relationship between teacher emotions with teachers’ job-related Affective well-being had a good fit to data. Furthermore, all of the regression weights in the hypothesized model were statistically significant and model' predictors accounted for 54% and 49% of the variance in teachers’ positive and negative job-related Affective well-being, respectively. Conclusion: In sum, the results of the present study consistent with the conceptual approaches of the control-value theory of achievement emotions and the broaden-and-build theory of positive emotions showed that teachers' emotional experiences as a rich source of information by influencing or reinforcing the multiple components that shape their psychological Capital were effective in shaping teachers' well-being and teachers' achievement-oriented efforts.

Abstract:

Introduction: In addition to the physical problems caused by the disease and the treatment process, cancer patients also face several psychological and emotional consequences existential psychotherapy may be effective in this regard. Therefore, the present study aimed to determine the effectiveness of existential psychotherapy on psychological Capital and Affective control in cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. Methods: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of existential psychotherapy on psychological Capital and Affective control in cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. This study was a quasi-experimental pre-test-post-test with the control group and its statistical population consisted of cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy at Omid Hospital in Mashhad in 2021, of which 22 as a sample and by convenience sampling methods were selected and randomly assigned to experimental and control groups. An existential psychotherapy program was then performed in nine 90-minute sessions for the experimental group, during which time the control group did not receive any intervention. The groups were tested before and after the intervention with the psychological Capital questionnaire of Luthans et al (2007) and the Affective control questionnaire of Williams et al (1997). Data were analyzed using single and multivariate analysis of covariance using SPSS-26 software. Results: The results of ANCOVA showed that existential psychotherapy promoted psychological Capital (F = 33. 34, p< 0. 001, η,= 0. 64) and Affective control (F = 14. 44, p< 0. 001, η,= 0. 43). The results of MANCOVA showed that existential psychotherapy is significantly effective in improving the dimensions of psychological Capital (self-efficacy, hope, resilience, optimism) (p<0. 05) and the same improving effects for the dimensions of Affective control (anger, depressed mood, anxiety, positive affect). It was confirmed (p<0. 05). Conclusions: The results indicated the effectiveness of existential psychotherapy on psychological Capital and emotional control in cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. As a result, the need to use existential therapies focused on issues related to cancer patients, especially with a focus on improving psychological Capital and Affective control in them, seems necessary and important.
